Creative Europe at the 76th Venice Film Festival

The next edition of the European Film Forum will explore the theme of 'Promoting European Audiovisual Works Beyond Europe'. Alongside Eleonora Andreatta, head of Rai Fiction, will be Ilda Santiago of the Rio Film Festival and Hiroko Takabe, curator of the European Film Festival in Japan, speakers will discuss the role of film markets and possible cooperations to reach a new and wider audience. EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, is also expected for a keynote.

VoD Market Day

Along the lines of the European VoD meetings, EuroVoD (in partnership with Creative Europe) are hosting their first ever Market Day at Venice. This free event include debates, project presentations, B2B meetings and networking with speakers from Netflix, EFADs and ARTE.

CICAE Art Cinema Panel

This year CICAE (whose Venice-based training programme ART CINEMA = ACTION & MANAGEMENT is supported by Creative Europe) renewed its collaboration with the Venice Production Bridge and will host a panel entitled 'Towards an international arthouse strategy: cinemas and the film industry'. 

Speakers include:

  • Lucía Recalde, Head of Unit MEDIA-Creative Europe
  • Christian Bräuer, President of CICAE and AG Kino
  • Domenico Dinoia, Vice-President of CICAE and President of FICE
  • Mira Staleva, member of the CICAE board and MD of Sofia International Film Festival

Venice Gap Financing Market 

  • 30 August - 1 September

The three-day event (supported by Creative Europe's Access to Markets scheme) will present 51 projects from around the world in the final stages of development and funding, with the intention of completing financing on their projects.

MEDIA Aperitivo

  • Friday 30 August, 5.30-7.00pm 

The Creative Europe Desks are joining together to host drinks at the Venice Production Bridge, where attendees will get the opportunity to mingle with European audiovisual professionals and hear a presentation from a representative of streaming platform MUBI.
