EFP at Toronto International Film Festival 2019

The European Film Promotion (EFP) returns to the Toronto International Film Festival (5-15 September) with their EUROPE! UMBRELLA stand. Based at the festival's Industry Centre, the stand provides a central meeting point for 'all things European' and with the support of Creative Europe represents 22 European countries that contribute to 166 European films and co-productions premiering in various sections of the festival. Head over to the stand for networking opportunities with European sales companies, institutes and talent.

EFP have also revealed the 23 films that will receive Film Sales Support (FSS) - an initiative supported through Creative Europe's Access to Markets scheme - which supports the promotion and sales of the latest European titles to North American and worldwide markets at TIFF through a financial contribution to their sales campaigns.

Supported titles with UK involvement in the FSS 2019 line-up include:

  • Calm with Horses, directed by Nick Rowland
  • The Burnt Orange Heresy, directed by Giuseppe Capotondi

The Painted Bird from director Václav Marhoul, which was awarded Development funding under a previous MEDIA programme, will also receive FSS support.

The full list of EFP supported films can be found on their website.
