Encounters backed by Creative Europe Film Festivals funding
For the sixth year running, Bristol’s Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival has received backing from Creative Europe, in the latest results announced for the Film Festivals funding opportunity (call reference EACEA/16/2015).
The scheme supports festivals that programme a majority of European films from a wide range of countries, in particular those that demonstrate a commitment to developing new audiences and increasing levels of film literacy through various outreach activities.
As the UK’s leading short film and animation festival and an annual meeting place for filmmakers and industry professionals, Encounters runs a six-day event every September at its main venues, the Watershed and Arnolfini on Bristol’s scenic Harbourside.
The 22nd edition of the festival takes place from 20 to 25 September 2016. Their call for entries is currently open and full details of how to submit can be found on the Encounters website.
