Serbia launches its Creative Europe Desk for MEDIA
Serbia has officially launched the MEDIA branch of its Creative Europe Desk with a training session held as part of FEST Forward, the industry section of the 44th Belgrade International Film Festival. Serbia is the last of the former Yugoslav countries eligible to join Creative Europe's MEDIA sub-programme.
Boban Jevtic, director of Film Centre Serbia, said: “Membership in Creative Europe’s MEDIA sub-programme is of crucial importance for Serbian cinema. Our filmmakers, production companies and other film professionals will now have access to its 17 different categories of support, and we will immediately start training sessions in order to get them acquainted with the programme and process of project submission and grants.”
The European Commission’s website provides a full list of Creative Europe Desks. Desks exist in all countries participating in Creative Europe. They are teams of specialists who promote European initiatives in the field of audiovisual and culture and facilitate participation in the Creative Europe programme.
