UK producer Kurban Kassam selected for ACE 29

ACE has unveiled the 18 producers selected to participate in the 29th edition of its ACE Session training programme - supported by Creative Europe's Training scheme - and join the ACE Network.

The selected producers will attend three workshops throughout the year, focusing on a project they have in development. 15 European countries are represented in the line-up, with producers from Georgia and Lithuania selected for the first time.

From the UK, ACE have selected Kurban Kassam, whose recent credits include Sally Potter's The Party (which received MEDIA funding through the Automatic Distribution scheme) and will participate with a project entitled The Parcel. Kassam is also an alum of the MEDIA-funded training scheme Inside Pictures, having graduated from the business leadership programme in 2017.

Four events make up the core of the training:

  • Content development - analysing the concepts, dramaturgy and target audiences of producers’ projects
  • Financing strategies - exploring international financing opportunities and co-production practices
  • Business strategies -  providing participants with models of sustainable company management

Finally, the Annual Reunion 2020 will be held in Edinburgh, with the support of Screen Scotland. It will be the first time that an ACE Workshop or Annual Reunion has been held in the UK since the association’s inception in 1993.
